Regarding health and well-being, I needed to detox and unwind following my recent Tokyo adventure. The hustle and bustle of the big city can be immensely draining, making it all the more important to find moments of respite. Thankfully, cycling and swimming are two activities that have become essential to my health.
I immerse myself in the exhilarating challenge of my triweekly 14km cycling course, battling formidable uphill terrain. As the sun descends, painting the sky with vibrant hues, the scenery that unfolds before me is breathtaking. To my left, the sun gently kisses the deep blue expanse of the Pacific Ocean as it bids farewell beyond the horizon. To my right, verdant green forests stretch out, exuding a sense of tranquillity and natural beauty. The air that kisses my face is crisp, clean, and refreshing.
My father taught me to swim when I was about seven years old. So, swimming is something that has followed me into my adult years. Biweekly, I cover a distance of 2.5km in just under an hour. With each rhythmic movement, I feel a sense of serenity wash over me, washing away the stresses and worries of daily life. In the water, I find a sense of liberation that nurtures my mental well-being.
These activities have revitalized my body, instilling a newfound strength and vitality I have longed for. The endorphins released during these exercises have become a natural elixir, uplifting my mood and enhancing my happiness.
In a world brimming with demands and pressures, it is crucial to prioritize our well-being and embrace moments of self-care.
